Musical Score for SACRED INDIA - A Plastic Revolution
Bio
Thorsten Abel was born in 1969 and grew up in a small village in North Rhine Westphalia, Germany. He started his music journey in 1988 when he formed the Indie Rock band Hip Young Things with Dirk Dresselhaus, also known as the Electronic Music artist Schneider tm. They released four albums on Glitterhouse Records, the European branch of Seattle’s Sup Pop Records. They played shows with bands such as Soundgarden, Pavement, The Ramones, Beck, The Cramps, Jon Spencer and the Blues Explosion, Siouxsie and the Banshees and many others all across Europe. After their paths diverged, Abel moved to Berlin.
In 2006, Thor Abel relocated to Vancouver, Canada. In addition to his work with the abel collective, he composes musical scores and works on his Ambient project Zuckerzeit IX, a collaboration with Canadian guitarist Joseph Martin (Bend Sinister).
In 2025, Thor Abel and interdisciplinary artist Angela Fama formed The Angelalas.
